EDLPS 519--Special Topics in Special Education Policy
Variable Credits 1-3

General Course Information:
On-line special topics courses in special education law are available for WEA members. These courses are typically “open” for 2 weeks during which time you can work through the course at the times that work best for you. The only time constraints are the time the course starts and terminates—you must complete the course during those dates.

The classes are updated each year to be sure that any changes in law or practice are included.

EDLPS 519: On-Line Courses (To see course descriptions, follow each link.):

On-line Course Prerequisites:
These courses are introductory in nature so there are no prerequisite knowledge requirements. However, to participate in any of these courses, students are expected to have basic competencies in the use of computers including how to navigate their computer's operating system (e.g., Windows or MacOS X). We can provide technical support when needed, but if you are not comfortable with the tasks listed below, the course may be technically challenging for you! But, if you are familiar with how to:

•  Use a web browser,
•  Use a word processor,
•  Use email, and
•  Save files to a folder or directory,

The courses will be easy to navigate! Cost, Credits, Registration: Participants can earn one credit from Seattle Pacific University ($35) or the University of Washington ($181.50) or 10 clock hours ($5) for each of the three on-line courses described below. If you take 1-3 of the courses for UW credit, you will register for EDLPS 519. The course is variable credit (1-3) and the cost is the same whether you sign up for 1, 2 or 3 credits of EDLPS 519. The cost to take the course is $50.00 in addition to credit or clock hour costs. If you have any questions about registration, please e-mail Janie Moxley at the Washington Education Association: jmoxley@washingtonEA.org
